The incentive diagnosis is correct. The prescription has a gap. "Verify with boring sources" assumes the audience can evaluate boring sources. The people most vulnerable to bad finance content aren't choosing TikTok over Vanguard white papers because they're lazy. They're choosing it because the white paper is written for someone with a finance degree and the TikTok is written for someone without one. The accessibility gap is the moat that bad advice hides behind.

The solution isn't "read better sources." It's someone writing the correct advice in the format that reaches the people who actually need it. The best finance writing on Substack does this: institutional-quality thinking delivered at a reading level that doesn't require a Series 66 to parse. That's the gap in the market. Not more disclaimers. Better translators.
